The City of Athens (incorporated in 1902) has been
a Council/Manager form of Municipal Government since its adoption
by Home Rule Charter in 1966. The Mayor and four Council Members
are elected at large by the citizens of Athens. The City Council
selects the City Administrator, who is accountable to them for the
overall operation and management of the City.
